Why Outlier Trading exists

The structure I wish I had from the beginning.

I started trading in 2007 and spent years learning through repetition, mistakes, and a path that was far less efficient than it needed to be.

A mentor guided me to completely reconsider my approach. He introduced me to trading plans, trading logs, and the need to prepare meticulously before putting capital at risk.

My background as a Marine Officer taught me to prepare, operate under pressure, and review performance honestly. My education in statistics gave me a deeper framework for uncertainty, evidence, and decision-making.

Today, after 35,000 hours in markets since 2007 and years of full-time derivatives work, I see trading development as a deliberate process built through planning, execution, review, and continuous refinement.

Outlier Trading exists to provide the structure I wish I had access to. It is entirely possible to stumble your way through alone and figure out how to trade.
